Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL)

Prepare yourself for an exiting career as an English as a Second Language ESL teacher.

Get certified to teach English in Canada or overseas with our TESOL Certificate Program.

Upon completion of the 100 hours in class, plus a 20 hour practicum, you will receive an internationally recognized certificate. Our program is also recognized by TESL Canada and will get you on your way to TESL Ontario accreditation.

  • Obtain certification to teach English abroad or in Canada
  • Earn credits towards the TESL Ontario recognized CERTESL from the University of Saskatchewan
  • Acquire practical teaching skills
  • Taught by Certified & Experienced TESOL Teachers
  • Part time and Full time classes available
Part-time evenings:
  • September to December 2007 (14 weeks)
  • Full-time days: May 2008 (4 weeks)
  • Full-time days: July & Aug 2008 (4 weeks)

  • A university B.A (or Final Year)
  • Advanced proficiency in English (TOEFL or TOEIC scores required for applicants with English as a Second Language)
  • Genuine interest in teaching English to speakers of other languages
  • Language teaching/learning theory
  • Teaching methodologies and techniques
  • Unit and lesson planning
  • Testing and evaluation
  • Language systems (grammar, vocabulary and idioms, pronunciation)
  • Language skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing)
